Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist 1 (OT 1) works as a New Grad - Entry Level therapist and is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and implementing occupational therapy services for patients as assigned by the Director of Therapy. The OT 1 plans, evaluates, and implements individualized treatment programs to support patients in achieving optimal functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with physician orders and patient care plans.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as appropriate.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and positive patient care environment consistent with UC Davis Health values.

The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed facility located on the Sacramento Medical Center campus, equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice activities of daily living. The hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients.
