Responsibilities
- Assist technical writers and supervisors by receiving tasks, supervision, and guidance on all assignments.
- Conduct research and prepare drafts for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related publications.
- Organize research materials and assist with writing assignments, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and proper style and terminology.
- Draft revisions and maintain records of technical writing work and revisions.
- Review work methods, procedures, and equipment operation and maintenance data.
- Observe activities with production and engineering personnel; read journals and reports to familiarize with product technologies and production methods.
- Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, and specifications to understand technology and production processes.
- Select appropriate visuals and assist in layout for publication, collaborating with production teams.
- Perform word-processing and duplication of materials; may draft speeches, articles, and public releases.
- Work independently on designated recurring tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED; undergraduate degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred.Experience in researching, writing, editing, proofreading, or word-processing preferred.Ability to understand the organization and functions of the customer.Strong project management skills and attention to detail.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office; knowledge of desktop publishing or graphics software is a plus.Commitment to excellent customer service; positive and adaptable attitude.Ability to work in a team and maintain professionalism.This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7- or 10-year minimum background investigation.
