Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by The Sharon at SouthPark to conduct an executive search for a Chief Financial Officer.
The Sharon at SouthPark (The Sharon) is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community with a full continuum of lifestyle and healthcare services in Charlotte, North Carolina, where residents live with joy, purpose and well-being. Founded in 1969 by Presbyterian leaders in the area and home to approximately 375 residents on a wooded, 28-acre campus, it’s the perfect blend of tranquil wooded setting and urban sophistication. The Sharon is comprised of independent living cottages and apartments, assisted living apartments, nursing care & rehabilitation, and memory care suites.
The organization has a well-regarded legacy of leading the way in residential living for those 60+ in Charlotte. The Sharon is undergoing a campus transformation, which started in 2017, further advanced in late 2022, and continues to this day with planning for additional phases.
The Sharon is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to enhance the community’s financial future and support residents’ lives in conjunction with the executive team. Reporting to the President & CEO, this individual will be a self-motivated leader who is responsible for developing, recommending and managing financial plans that support the vision and mission of The Sharon. The CFO will provide strategic direction and insight in cash management, investments, insurance, forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting.
The prospective candidate must have five+ years of experience in finance / accounting and a CPA license is required. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or another related field (accounting degree strongly preferred) is also required. The candidate must also be able to translate complex concepts into phrasing that can be easily understood by people not versed in accounting and financial and business management. They will bring an understanding of risk management and possess the ability to think strategically. Their experience should encompass a wide array of skills, including managed care, Human Resources management, 401k administration, computer technology, accounting software, property and liability insurance, group insurance and fixed-asset management. Finally, the CFO will support the culture of The Sharon with its emphasis on stewardship, unity, purpose, excellence in service, respect, and beauty.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a financial executive who desires to serve residents in a sophisticated community while continuing to uphold The Sharon’s outstanding reputation of service to seniors in a warm, friendly and hospitable setting.
