Primary Job Responsibilities :
Safety
Maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a priorityEnsure pump islands, lot, and store areas are clean and free of debris at all timesWork with Safety Team and conduct monthly mandatory meetings and trainingsReport safety incidents in a timely manner and comply with safety policy, programs and processesConduct timely and in-depth incident investigations to uncover root causes, and accurately prepare and submit required reports and paperwork within required time frameLeadership and Personnel Management
Train, develop, guide and evaluate employees to operate the store effectively and safely to provide superior customer serviceMaintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisorsWork with recruiting team to actively recruit, interview and select qualified applicants utilizing non-discriminatory management skillsPrepare and submit all employee paperwork accurately and timely i.e. (performance appraisals, performance notices, new hire checklist, employee change forms, etc.)Ensure that all employees receive continuous on-the-job, and company required training to improve customer service performance and safety awarenessMotivate and provide employee recognition to improve individual, team, and store performanceAddress employee performance and violation issues. Implement a progressive disciplinary approach when dealing with employee performance issues, prepare and submit the proper documentation within required time frameSet and communicate performance expectations, and evaluate actual performance based on those expectations. Consistently provide prompt and courteous customer service, may be required to assist customers at the gas pump, and assist in resolving customer issuesAccurately ring up all sales on POS system, comply with all cash handling procedures and other payment types for products soldDevelop positive and professional relationships with all customers, vendors and contractorsResponsible for all cash, monies and inventory during shiftAs a top priority, develop and assign tasks appropriately to ensure that the store is clean, adequately stocked and organized for fast, convenient and professional service to customersEnsure friendly, welcoming and well-maintained store environment to provide customers with a buying experience that meets their expectationMonitor customer needs and expectations, and work with store employees to ensure those needs are met by promoting programs and ensuring suggestive sellingAssist customers at the pump and in the store to find the desired product and operate equipmentActively solicit customer feedback via consistent personal interaction and engagementEnsure complaints are resolved quickly and sincerely to the customer's, vendor's and contractor's satisfactionPromote and ensure a safe, positive public image within the communityPromote, grow and maintain process of Loyalty Reward programBusiness and Financial Management
Plan and manager store activities to maximize operating profitMonitor fuel sales volume and competitor pricing to assist the pricing analyst in development of store specific fuel pricing strategies and tacticsMonitor merchandise and food movement, including competitor offerings to assist in development of store specific product mix and pricing strategiesMaintain store layout and product displays per schematicsExecute store level sales promotions and assist in implementing network-wide promotional and advertising campaignsManage fuel, merchandise and food inventory to ensure optimum stocking levelsStaff and schedule labor to meet customer demand while staying within budgetControl operating expenses, including maintenance, utilities, supplies and inventory lossPrepare and submit daily sales reports accurately and timely, including, invoices, bank deposits, and environmental compliance reportsSafeguard and account for all money received and disbursedOrganize and maintain all site files, manuals, and other information materialsReceive merchandise using proper check-in procedures when working with vendorsFacilities Management
Work with Retail Facility team to maintain appearance standards of paving, lighting, canopy and other physical structuresReport and follow up on facility issues as neededEnsure facilities and equipment are in safe working orderMaintain dispensing and store equipment to ensure clean, sanitary and safe working conditions at all timesEnsure required signage / decals are postedNote : This description is intended to give you a general overview of the position. Physical Demands :
Ability to stand and / or walk for an entire shiftAbility to see with 20 / 40 vision (corrective lenses acceptable) in order to see numbers on store inventory levels, items purchased, gas pumps in operation, and problems that may occur with gas pumpsAbility to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsAbility to follow safety procedures (eg. respond to safety alarms, contact 911 for emergencies)Frequent reaching overhead, gripping, wrist movement, and finger dexterity required to restock inventory, package items sold, operate POS system, receive payments, issue change, operate gas pumps, wipe pumps, maintain store grounds, and general housekeepingFrequent squatting and kneeling required for obtaining and / or replenishing itemsAbility to push / pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e. utilizing a hand-truck)Frequent lifting of 20 pounds or less from floor to waist, overhead and carry a short distanceSometimes required to lift in excess of stated conditions up to 50 poundsAbility to climb a stepladder to stock or retrieve materials and / or place or remove signsNote : There may be exposure to gas fumes and solvents, and occasional noise.
Qualifications :
To meet the basic qualifications for this role you will be at least 21 years of age or older and have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
Additional qualifications include :
High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in business, management, marketing, or related field preferredValid driver's license, and adequate transportation required
