High Volt Electric is seeking to fill an opening for a Full-Time Estimator in the next month at our Simi Valley office.

Minimum Requirements :

• 6 years of electrical estimating / project engineering or related experience
• Working knowledge of construction costs and principles
• Estimating experience (design-build, quantity takeoffs, purchasing accounting, engineering design knowledge and project management experience desirable)
• Experience with McCormick or similar electrical estimating software (Required)
• Prepare accurate materials pricing and conceptual estimates
• Ability to accurately enter data and perform mathematical calculations
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings / plans / blueprints / as -builts and project specifications
• Ability to understand elevations and read survey stakes; make accurate judgements and calculations
• Drafting and computer skills
• Coordinate job walks and subcontract solicitations
• Meet and maintain bidding and work schedules
• Submit requisitions for purchase of materials
• Compare competitive trade bids
• Review preliminary quote and pre-bid estimates with Project Manager
• Secure all bid documents (bid forms and quote letters)
• Prepare subcontractor bid list and submit drawings to subcontractors
• Participation in bid compilation on bid day
• Assist jobsite staff with estimates after bid award
• Perform post-bid buyouts (if applicable)
• Maintain a good relationship with all parties (including suppliers and subcontractors)
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned
• Excellent ability to communicate, read and write in English is A MUST
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to accept constructive criticism and follow directions
• Excellent safety track record with understanding of OSHA rules

• Must have a working cell phone
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid CA Driver’s License
