Reporting to the Vice President of Student Success, the Reconnect Enrollment Navigator serves as a proactive guide and advocate for adult learners (ages 25–55) returning to college through the SUNY Reconnect initiative. The Navigator provides individualized support to prospective and returning students by helping them explore academic programs, complete admissions and financial aid processes, and successfully transition back into higher education. This position plays a critical role in removing barriers, connecting students to resources, and ensuring a smooth re-entry to college. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Conduct targeted outreach to adult learners who have earned some college credits but have not completed a degree. Serve as the primary point of contact for SUNY Reconnect students from inquiry through enrollment. Conduct virtual or in-person onboarding sessions to review degree pathways, credit for prior learning, transfer credit, and available support services. Assist students with admissions, placement, registration, and financial aid applications (FAFSA, TAP, scholarships). Connect students to financial literacy and other campus resources as needed. Coordinate with academic advisors, faculty, and student services to support a smooth transition and first-year success. Track student progress from inquiry through the first year, providing consistent follow-up and intervention as needed. Identify barriers to persistence (e.g., childcare, transportation, housing, food insecurity) and coordinate solutions with campus and community partners. Maintain accurate records in student information and CRM systems. Collaborate with academic departments, admissions, financial aid, and student services to streamline processes for adult learners. Advocate for adult learners by identifying and elevating systemic barriers to college leadership. Participate in professional development and SUNY Reconnect training sessions. Qualifications Required : Associate’s degree Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, human services, or a related field Experience working with adult learners, nontraditional students, or in student services / advising roles. Knowledge of admissions, financial aid, student support services and student records processes. Experience using Banner, Degree Works, Slate or case management tools. Work Environment & Hours This role requires both office-based and outreach work, including occasional travel to community organizations, workforce partners, and recruitment events. Work schedule will be M-F, 11-7 pm and will require flexibility. Salary and Benefits Information Annual grant-funded salary $62,353.
