Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll support both new product development and current production by improving systems, guiding quality improvements, and mentoring others. Responsibilities include:
- Identify issues, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions using statistical tools when needed.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators.
- Recommend and implement equipment, gauging, and process improvements that strengthen product quality and consistency.
- Lead PFMEA activities for new and existing production processes.
- Update quality requirements for new and revised products, including key control characteristics and documentation.
- Partner with engineering teams to develop, qualify, and audit new and critical processes.
- Support product trial builds and collect feedback for evaluation.
- Help define annual quality goals and objectives.
- Build a culture of quality through problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration around shared goals.
- Share quality insights and recommendations with stakeholders, including leaders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or a bachelor’s or associate degree with equivalent quality engineering experience and increasing responsibility
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering
- Experience applying advanced statistical methods in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in common Lean or DMAIC problem-solving tools
- Familiarity with measurement practices and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools
- Ability to collaborate across teams to solve problems and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or a related credential
- Experience leading teams and coaching direct reports
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and gauge/fixture design
- Experience with ANOVA, regression analysis, Six Sigma concepts, and related methods
- Familiarity with GD&T, measurement practices, and APQP tools such as PPAP, dFMEA, pFMEA, MSA, SPC, capability studies, and control plans
- Lean manufacturing experience
- Understanding of ISO, IATF, and AS quality management standards, including internal auditing experience
- Proven project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
