Overview
In-house Production Artist supporting monthly, high-volume direct mail / print campaigns. Works under the Director, Creative Services and partners across Marketing, Print Production, and Campaign Management to prepare, edit, proof, and release large batches of assets.
Position is on-site 5 days / week (early-out on Fridays). Initial 3-month engagement with strong likelihood to extend; conversion possible . This is a production-only role (no concept / design).
Type : Contract, on-site M-F
Schedule : Regular business hours
Duration : 3+ months, possible extension / conversion for the right fit
Pay : $28 - $33 / hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible
Production Artist Requirements
- 2+ years production experience with advanced Adobe InDesign (comfortable with docs up to ~ 20 layers ;
- quick skills test will be administered for this).
- Strong knowledge of print production , digital mechanical file setup, and lasering / VDP for direct mail components.
- Proven accuracy under tight deadlines; meticulous proofing using layers, links, styles, and preflight.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments; outstanding organization and multitasking.
- Collaborative communicator; responsive to priority shifts; eager learner who asks questions and adapts.
- Familiarity with workflow tools ( Asana , Workfront ) and email-based routing.
Production Artist Duties
Execute production for established designs across direct-mail packages; meet aggressive schedules.Create, review, edit, and proof large volumes of partner collateral while preserving brand / file integrity.Prep and package InDesign files for digital and offset printing (layers, bleeds, dielines, impositions, exports, preflight).Respond quickly to urgent requests without sacrificing standards; maintain version control and naming.Collaborate with Print Production and Campaign Management on specs, lasering, proofs, and releases.Assist fellow designers / production staff to ensure all monthly mail drops hit deadlines and quality bars.
