Job Description
The successful candidate should possess the following :
- A strong interest in the impact of lighting on the built environment.
- Math and Calculation capabilities.
- A value on clear communication.
- A willingness to learn, or knowledge of, specialized lighting design technology and software.
Primary Responsibilities :
Develop and present lighting design concepts to clients, communicating design intent, technical solutions and aesthetic choices through engaging presentations and visualsDesign of lighting and control, and related systems, for commercial and residential buildings.Work with clients and team members to understand and develop project requirements and implementation.Develop construction drawings and documentation in Revit.Prepare specification sections for project manuals.Perform calculations such as : illuminance, lighting power density, spacing, sizing, etc.Coordinate lighting fixture selections with vendors and manufacturers.Coordinate system components with project architect and other team members.Coordinate spatial requirements for lighting and control systems.Perform construction administration services on assigned projects such as review of shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFI's.Visit Construction project sites and prepare observation reports and punch lists.Aid a contractor in performing Aim and Focus adjustments onsite.Ensure that the company's technical policies and procedures are practiced during the execution of team projects.Attend project design / construction meetings as needed.Assist in the development of conceptual presentations for clients.Assist supporting personnel on assigned projects.Collaborate with and be responsible to the team.Complete TimecardsWe prefer the following in candidates :
Experience with designing and documenting building lighting systems.Autodesk Revit, BlueBeam Revu, and AGi32 experience.Bachelor’s degree in Lighting Design, Architectural Engineering, Theatrical Lighting Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or relevant Experience.Prioritization and time-management skills.Alderson Engineering - www.aldersonengineering.com
