Job Description

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a Web Developer based in Irvine, CA (hybrid schedule). Our client is a fast-moving digital organization focused on building and maintaining high-traffic web platforms that support marketing, lead generation, and business operations.

The team values autonomy, technical ownership, and modern development practices. This role is ideal for a mid-to-senior level developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building custom WordPress solutions from the ground up.

You’ll be the go-to expert for all things WordPress, working closely with engineering and marketing teams to ensure the web ecosystem is secure, scalable, and optimized for performance. This is a high-impact role with room to innovate and shape the technical direction of the company’s web presence.

Contract Duration : 6 month contract-to-hire

Required Skills & Experience 3–5 years of professional experience in WordPress development

Proven experience managing and scaling high-traffic WordPress websites

Expert-level proficiency in PHP and WordPress architecture (hooks, APIs, etc.)

Strong understanding of MySQL and database optimization

Solid front-end skills : HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+)

Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows

Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Desired Skills & Experience Experience with Tailwind CSS and modern CSS frameworks

Familiarity with Docker and WP Env development environments

Experience with WP Engine for environment management

React.js experience for building custom Gutenberg blocks

Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro) expertise

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows

Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)
