Job descriptionBuild and ship end-to-end product features with ownership and urgency. Scale infrastructure to support billions of daily events and millions of users. Design and implement distributed and real-time systems for fraud / risk detection. Develop scalable product foundations serving enterprise customers like Medium, GoFundMe, and Fortune 500s . Collaborate closely with founders, engineering, and product teams. Expertise in distributed systems and real-time event processing . Strong experience with big data / NoSQL (Cassandra, DynamoDB, BigTable, etc.). Proficiency in streaming technologies (Kafka, Pub / Sub, etc.). Familiarity with vector databases and scaling LLM-based systems . Proven ability to deliver features end-to-end . Knowledge of rate-limiting infrastructure . Experience with Kubernetes or containerized environments. Background in observability / data visualization products. Prior experience in growth-stage startups . Strong background from top companies or universities . Domain expertise in fintech, payments, or fraud / risk systems (PayPal, Stripe, Uber, eBay, etc.). Experience with high-volume consumer systems . Fluency in Elixir, Golang, Scala, Rust, Python, or TypeScript . Familiarity with event sourcing, stream processing, low-latency infrastructure . Hiring Manager Call (15–20 min) – candidate goals & objectives. Technical Coding Screen (45 min) – problem-solving in Python or TypeScript. Behavioral Interview with Co-Founder. Work Trial (preferred) – 2–3 days on a real project in Client’s codebase (paid / optional).

The platform provides a unified API for policy management, detection, enforcement, observability, and moderator workflows—helping enterprises protect millions of users from scams, spam, and abuse.

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend / Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale Client’s fraud / risk detection systems. You’ll work on distributed real-time infrastructure, ship features quickly, and lay the foundation for scaling our platform to more enterprise clients and industries.
