Description :
Looking for an experienced NICU nurse to join our team.
The nurse will be responsible for providing care to neonates.
Ratios in the NICU are 1 : 2-3.
Every other weekend commitment is required.
The schedule is self-managed by travelers.
The nursing staff will float to postpartum units.
The hospital is a Level 1 trauma and teaching facility.
Daily patient census ranges from 13 to 14.
The unit consists of 18 beds.
Key skills required include administration of medications, monitoring respiratory distress, and providing developmental care.
Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and phototherapy is preferred.
Familiarity with Cerner charting system is required.
Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services and social services.
The nurse will be involved in patient and family teaching.
Additional skills like IV management and patient assessments are necessary.
This position requires strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
