Assistant Director Of Nursing
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing staff and maintain the highest standards of patient care within our facility. This leadership position requires a compassionate and experienced professional who is dedicated to improving the quality of care for residents. The ADON will assist in developing and implementing nursing policies, providing guidance to staff, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while fostering a collaborative and resident-focused environment.
Responsibilities :
- Support the DON in managing the nursing department to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies and procedures to enhance patient care quality.
- Collaborate with the DON and interdisciplinary teams to oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
- Ensure proper documentation of medical records and adherence to MDS (Minimum Data Set) and OASIS requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in delivering hospice care, home care, acute care, and nursing home services.
- Advocate for resident rights and participate in training staff on these principles.
- Assist in conducting regular training sessions for nursing staff on best practices related to physiology, anatomy, and patient care.
- Monitor and manage staffing levels, assist with recruitment, and participate in performance evaluations for nursing personnel.
Requirements :
Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Master's degree preferred but not required).Extensive OASIS experience and knowledge with a demonstrated ability to oversee and ensure compliance with OASIS guidelines.At least 2 years of nurse supervisory and management experience, preferably in home care, hospice, or a long-term care setting.Solid understanding of hospice care practices and principles.Experience in nursing home or healthcare management with a strong focus on resident rights.Proficient in MDS regulations and documentation processes.Comprehensive knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to patient care.Proven ability to support and manage nursing teams effectively.Familiarity with home care practices and acute care settings.Strong skills in maintaining accurate medical records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient advocacy and team collaboration.This position offers an opportunity for dedicated professionals to grow as leaders while positively impacting the lives of patients through excellence in nursing care.
