Job Description
The Bureau of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (ESE) has about 100 staff focusing on identifying and minimizing risks of environmental and engineered hazards in NYC, including water systems and radiation control. ESE oversees systems such as HVAC, building plumbing, NYC drinking water supply, recreational water facilities, nonpotable and reuse systems, sewage, radioactive materials, and radiological equipment.
We are seeking a water systems analyst within the Office of Public Health Engineering. The role reports to the water systems analyst lead and collaborates with scientists, engineers, and data analysts supporting NYC's drinking and recreational water programs. Key responsibilities include water quality surveillance, inspection of the NYC drinking water system, review of engineering plans for water treatment and bathing establishments, and managing the NYC beach program.

Qualifications
For Level I : A master's degree in a relevant field. For Level II and above : a doctorate with experience, or a master's with more extensive experience, or equivalent education and experience. All candidates must have at least a master's degree and two years of relevant experience. A two-year appointment as City Research Scientist Level I can substitute for some experience requirements.
