Administrative Assistant III To The Chief Of Police
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the Administrative Assistant III to the Chief of Police position for ATC's Campus Safety division. This position is located at ATC's Main Campus, which is just south of downtown Atlanta.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Police, the Administrative Assistant III to the Chief of Police provides high-level administrative, clerical, and operational support to the Chief of Police and the department's leadership team. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Chief's office by coordinating communications, managing confidential information, preparing reports, and assisting with departmental functions that support the safety and security of the campus community. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, discretion, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively in a law enforcement and higher-education environment.
Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following :
- Provides executive-level administrative support to the Chief of Police, including scheduling, correspondence, meeting coordination, and follow-up.
- Manages incoming and outgoing communications, serving as a liaison between the Chiefs' office, departmental staff, college administration, students, and external partners.
- Prepares and edits letters, reports, presentations, and official documents.
- Coordinates departmental meetings, training sessions, and special events, including logistics, agendas, and materials.
- Assists in budget monitoring, purchasing, and recordkeeping, ensuring compliance with TCSG and state purchasing policies.
- Maintains confidential personnel, financial, and operational records for the department.
- Assists with Clery Act reporting, GACP certification documentation, and other compliance activities.
- Provides courteous and professional customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community partners.
- Supports the department's overall mission to ensure a safe and secure campus environment.
- Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Bachelors Degree AND One (1) year of work related experience OR Associates Degree in Business Administrative Technology AND Two (2) years of related work experience. Note : Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible administrative or executive assistant experience.Preferred qualifications :
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following :Five (5) years or more of administrative experience supporting senior management, preferably in a law enforcement, higher-education, or government environment.Experience with budget tracking, procurement, and public-sector record management systems.Familiarity with campus safety operations, police department procedures, and Clery Act compliance.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and reliability in all aspects of work.Please upload a resume, transcript(s) and certifications.
