We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer to manage and oversee the engineering of sophisticated control systems for new equipment, such as stamping presses and transfer presses, using Siemens platforms. The role involves specifying, designing, and implementing control systems that meet specifications, budgets, and safety standards, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Specify and engineer control systems for metal stamping presses and related equipment, ensuring specifications, budgets, and safety standards are met.
Architect, program, and implement PLCs, HMIs, and network configurations, primarily using Rockwell Automation products, with integration of Siemens solutions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to refine manufacturing processes and align with industry best practices.
Analyze system performance, recommend improvements, and implement automation and robotics technologies.
Conduct machine safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with ANSI, NFPA, and ISO standards.
Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide engineering teams to deliver projects on time and at the highest quality.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in industrial control system design and implementation.
Experience with metal stamping and automated manufacturing equipment.
Proficiency with Rockwell Automation and Siemens platforms, including PLC programming, HMI development, and network configurations.
Strong understanding of machine safety standards (e.g., ANSI / RIA R15.06, NFPA 79, ISO) and the ability to apply them to system design.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Experience leading complex projects in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with assembly line design, automation, and customized fabrication equipment and manufacturing processes is preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
Familiarity with MS Project or equivalent is preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires work in both an office and plant environment, with time spent on the floor varying depending on the project phase. The average work week consists of 40-45 hours, Monday through Friday. The role offers exposure to advanced automation and technologies, within a local setting across multiple plants specializing in appliances.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00 / yr.
