Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a top Healthcare client.
This core clinical role coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, consistent with state and specialty standards. As a vital part of the patient care team, the Therapist performs a variety of diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, with a focus on monitoring and managing patients receiving both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform and meticulously document patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to accurately evaluate the need for, and the patient's response to, prescribed respiratory therapy.
- Administer a full range of respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation, and assist with the safe placement of artificial airways.
- Monitor patient therapeutic response, promptly notifying the provider and intervening appropriately in the event of an unintended response.
- Respond immediately to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
- Assist with the safe transportation of ventilator-dependent patients within the hospital environment.
Requirements
Education
Completion of an accredited respiratory care program is required (implied by licensure / certification requirements).Experience
Prior experience in acute care or critical care settings is strongly preferred (implied by ventilation and emergent response duties).Certifications / Licenses
Respiratory Therapist / Practitioner (RRT / RCP-State) credential is required.Candidates with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential will be considered.Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.Skills
Proven clinical competency in managing and documenting patient assessment and response to therapy.Expertise in the application, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical ventilation.Strong ability to function effectively during emergent patient situations and resuscitations.Benefits
