Qualifications for Position :
Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Instructional Certificate
Minimum of 60 college credits from an accredited college / university
Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
Ability to follow lesson plans left by the permanent teacher
Ability to analyze problems accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Ability to work independently, with little direction, exercising good judgement
Ability to read, interpret, explain and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive or privileged information
Ability to operate computers and peripheral equipment and used advanced functions of standard and specialized computer software with efficiency and accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
Prior experience working with children, preferably in a learning environment
Approved Criminal History Review from NJ Dept. of Ed. Office of Criminal History Review
Ability to lift and position students alone and with another person as required
Lifting is performed from various levels and weight; can vary up to 70 lbs.
Summary :
Implements students’ IEP goals and objectives. Provides direction to students in all educational activities. Ensures school's policies and procedures relating to students are observed at all times both within the school environment and at community sites. Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
