MTU Marine Diesel Engine Technician (3 years of experience required)

A Fort Lauderdale based Marine Diesel Engine repair company is looking for an experienced MTU diesel engine mechanic to join our team!

The successful candidate will be qualified in the installation, maintenance and repair of diesel engine systems. Tasks range from basic engine services to complete vessel repowers. This position requires a mechanic able to work with little direct supervision and the ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission & generator mechanical or electrical failures. We need technicians who are up to the challenge of doing complete rebuilds, repowers, troubleshooting, inspections, surveys, generator repairs and transmission repairs on boats and mega yachts.

Experience with MAN, Volvo, Detroit, Cummins and CAT are a plus.

Generator and transmission experience a plus.

Requirements :

• At least 3 years of experience with MTU marine diesel engines
• Experience with MTU 2000 and 4000 series are a plus
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required
• Must be willing to travel
• Have own hand tools
• Good driving record
• Must take pride in your work and enjoy a good challenge
• Clean, neat work habits

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Perform maintenance and repairs on various types of mechanical equipment
• Heavy lifting, climbing, and carrying maybe be required in the performance of duties.
• Must have record of positive work performance and safety record.
• The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, employees and customers
• Quickly and efficiently completes tasks in a safe manner.
• Must be organized and able to work effectively as a team member

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
