The Chief Pilot at The Home Depot leads a team of experienced pilots, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Provide strategic direction and operational leadership to a geographically dispersed flight crew team across multiple states, fostering a unified culture of excellence and accountability. Develop, implement, and continuously improve aviation policies and procedures that support seamless coordination, crew readiness, and mission success. Serve as the primary steward of flight standards, crew performance, and operational integrity, while collaborating cross-functionally with maintenance, dispatch, HR, and executive leadership to align aviation operations with enterprise goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Function as Pilot in Command on Home Depot aircraft for the purpose of maintaining a high degree of technical competence and awareness of safe aircraft operations, anywhere in the world that includes the United States, Canada, Mexico and other international destinations.
- Must be able to fully perform all flight related duties. Provide guidance to flight personnel to assure safe, efficient and coordinated use of corporate aircraft.
- Responsible for the conduct of safe flight operations and the compliance of all applicable FAA regulations, as well as internal Home Depot policies.
- Participate in the development of departmental operational policies and procedures, implementation of safety management systems, change management and other programs related to operational safety.
- Prepare and administer performance appraisals and provide feedback on job performance ongoing. Manage records and files to ensure flight currency, accuracy of ratings, and other related certificates and background data.
- Selects, develops, and motivates assigned staff.
Direct Manager / Direct Reports :
Position reports to the Sr Director, AviationAccountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.Travel Requirements :
Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.Physical Requirements :
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.Working Conditions :
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and / or must regularly deal with difficult situations.Minimum Qualifications :

Certified Aviation Manager (CAM)Minimum of 7000 total hours, 4000 hours as pilot in command and 2000 hours in heavy jet aircraft.Minimum Education :

Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate; FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; Type Rated in at least two corporate jet aircraft.Competencies :
Demonstrated leadership abilities with ten (10) or more years in aviation management, preferably in corporate aviation.Effective communication skills.General business familiarity of department budgets.Polished organizational skills.Fifteen (15) years of experience as a professional pilot flying complex jet aircraft with a demonstrated record of adherence to aviation safety and flight standards. Captain experience in international operations is required.
