SUMMARY The Environmental Project Engineer is responsible for reducing operational costs and controlling long-term environmental costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting operational initiatives, and reducing risk.
REMOTE work from HOME Travel 25% ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Manage Fuel Storage Tank Projects : Direct activities of contractors, Consultants, Project managers and suppliers necessary to complete new fuel tank installations, upgrades and removals cost effectively and in compliance with Ryder & regulatory requirements Manage projects consistent with Ryder accounting, financial reporting guidelines and to achieve maximum reimbursement from State Trust Fund Reimbursement programs Supervise environmental cleanup projects : Provide management & technical expertise to internal and external customers related to property clean-up & remediation projects, drainage and subsurface investigations Prepare capital budgets, scope of work and proposal documents associated with Capital and Environmental Reserve projects.
Manage supplier recruitment, competitive bidding & selection processes for services related to environmental consulting, contracting and laboratory services necessary to complete project management Oversee routine repair and maintenance or Ryder fueling infrastructure to minimize long term costs and extend useful life fuel and oil tank systems Research storage tank regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations Provide environmental technical support and solutions to FMS field organization.
Support maintenance initiatives - DEF, automated fueling, alternative fuels Perform Phase I & II Real Estate Site Assessments to support Ryder's due diligence associated with property and company acquisitions identify and manage environmental conditions incident to acquisition / occupancy ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree Engineering or Geological Sciences. Master's degree Related field preferred.
