Chief Development Officer
YWCA Dayton, dedicated to the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, seeks a dedicated person to be an integral part of the team. The Chief Development Officer is the senior leader responsible for the overall fundraising strategy and management of high-level donor relationships. This role is focused on securing major gifts, leading grant applications, and providing strategic oversight for all fundraising campaigns and events. This person supports the vision, mission, and values of YWCA Dayton.
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as the senior leader of the development department, responsible for the overall fundraising strategy and management of all fundraising activities.
- Develop, implement, and track the organization's comprehensive development plan, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals and financial needs.
- Develop and manage the annual fundraising budget. Regularly track and analyze key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of all fundraising activities.
- Manage, mentor, and provide strategic direction to the marketing manager and annual giving manager, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Provide final strategic oversight and approval on all major fundraising initiatives and campaign assets, including direct mail lists, digital strategies, and event plans.
- Ensure a cohesive and consistent message is conveyed across all fundraising channels.
Major Gifts & Board Giving
Lead the organization's major gift and principal giving programs, with a focus on securing transformational gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.Cultivate and manage a personal portfolio of high-net-worth prospects, including one-on-one meetings, customized proposals, and ongoing stewardship.Develop and oversee the board giving program, working directly with board members to achieve 100% participation and maximize their philanthropic support.Oversee the organization's donor relations and stewardship program, ensuring a best-in-class experience for all donors.Ensure timely and meaningful acknowledgment of all gifts.Grants
Serve as the primary writer and manager of YWCA Dayton's grant strategy.Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with new foundation prospects.Ensure all grant reporting and stewardship requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.High-Level Event Management
Lead all high-level sponsorship solicitation for major events, such as the women of influence event.Provide comprehensive solicitation packets, talking points, and strategic guidance to the event committee and volunteers to support their fundraising efforts.Work closely with the annual giving manager to ensure event logistics and fundraising goals are seamlessly integrated.Commitment to Service

A minimum of 5 years fundraising experience is required.Bachelor's degree in a related field required.Experience in non-profit fundraising leadership, including major gifts and grant writing, is required.
