Job Description (General Summary)
Intralox, LLC has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to work in our ThermoDrive Engineering Team located in our New Orleans, LA office. As a New Product Engineer in this role, you will focus on developing initiatives or enhancements to existing platforms, and design equipment used in the manufacturing and fabrication of products. Applicants must be highly motivated, self-managed, and have the ability to work both independently and in a performance-driven team environment on multiple projects.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Responsibilities :
Support the ideation of new products by determining engineering specifications from commercial requirements and validating proofs of concept using analytics and / or physical tests
Collaborate and coordinate within a multi-disciplined global team including project managers, fabrication technicians, test engineers, and commercial business development personnel
Take technical ownership of projects through all stages-design, functional requirements, prototype development, validation, and manufacturability
Using SolidWorks, design new and maintain existing components, assemblies, and full systems, using best practices and documenting work.
Work with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams
Conduct and / or participate in group design reviews and team brainstorming
Work directly with customers alongside commercial account managers to secure and execute engineering product tests
Develop technical documentation including fabrication / assembly manuals and test plans / reports
Develop and conduct training for Production, Maintenance, and Field personnel
Requirements :
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in new product development and / or machine design
Strong mechanical aptitude with a "hands-on" approach to engineering
Solid Modeling / CAD and EPDM workspace experience
Must have demonstrated aptitude for creative problem solving and innovation
Self-managed and strong sense of ownership
Confident and clear communicator (both written and verbal)
Great attitude and excellent team player
Microsoft Office expertise
People skills (presentations, training, customer visits, gathering feedback, etc)
Willingness to take appropriate risks with an 80 / 20 phase solution mindset
~5-10% domestic / international travel
Desired Qualifications :
Proficiency with Solidworks
5-10 years of experience in new product development and / or machine design
Experience with or knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA)
New product development experience, state gate style processes
Direct mechanical trade experience (Machinist, HVAC, Mechanic, Construction, Furniture or Cabinet Making, etc)
