As a Senior Battery Development Engineer, you will be specializing in pouch cell fabrication. As part of the team, you'll lead the small-scale pilot production of pouch cells.
Position Summary :
As a Senior Battery Engineer, you will play a crucial role in refining lithium-ion pouch cells and associated electrodes.
Collaborating closely with R&D and Product teams, your responsibilities will include evaluating new cell electrodes, optimizing designs for performance and cost, leading lab-scale trials, supporting failure analysis, maintaining performance models, contributing to standard cell format design, and analyzing battery cell performance trends.
Key Responsibilities :
- Spearhead design, optimization of pouch cell configurations to meet performance, safety, and cost targets.
- Setting up semi-automatic pouch cell assembly processing line, establishing pouch cell build process and leading cell build process improvement to drive quality.
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for pouch cells, encompassing electrode coating, cell assembly, and sealing.
- Evaluate and qualify materials for pouch cell components, including electrodes, separators, and electrolytes. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure consistent material quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pouch cell performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Identify areas for optimization, automation, and cost reduction.
Experience / Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in battery engineering, with a focus on pouch cell fabrication.
- Deep understanding of pouch cell design principles, electrode formulations, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in electrode coating, cell assembly, and sealing techniques.
- Familiarity with battery fabrication equipment and instrumentation.
