Job Summary
This role involves performing Computed Tomography (CT) scans to produce cross-sectional images of tissues and internal organs that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Licenses / Certifications :
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required.
- Current or temporary license issued by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required.
- Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB(CT)) in Computed Tomography.
Additionally, one of the following along with documented training in providing diagnostic CT exams is needed :
Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N).Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Minimum one year of experience as a Computed Tomography Technologist or two years as a Radiological Technologist with CT education or experience preferred.Ability to lift and maneuver patients in conjunction with others as needed to perform job functions.Principal Accountabilities :
Conduct CT scans on patients, which includes preparing patients, explaining procedures, administering contrast when necessary, positioning patients appropriately, selecting imaging techniques, and ensuring the scans meet technical quality standards.Enter and monitor patient data as required.Perform quality assurance checks on CT equipment and may assist with the application for ACR and other accreditation processes.Identify and report incidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.Participate in emergency calls for the department and may be required to work weekends or float to other facilities as necessary.Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards, including budgetary constraints such as time and supply management.Promote professional development by meeting continuing education and skills competency requirements. Act as a preceptor and mentor for less experienced staff.Demonstrate a commitment to caring for every member of our community, providing compassionate and personalized experiences, and modeling Memorial Hermann’s service standards for safe, caring, personalized, and efficient interactions.Perform other duties as assigned.
