About The Position
Job Title : Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner

License : Must possess a valid Oregon license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Certifications : BLS required upon hire, RRT
Must-Have :
Must be a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner as recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Must provide evidence of valid state license to practice as an RCP
Description :
The Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner shall be knowledgeable and proficient in the performance of all Respiratory Care procedures and protocols.
This includes, but is not limited to, CPAP / BiPAP, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, and ventilator management.
The practitioner may also be involved in pulmonary screens, hemodynamic monitoring, pulse oximetry, and the setup of various monitoring systems.
Involvement in departmental education programs and performance improvement initiatives is expected.
The practitioner must adhere to departmental quality, productivity, and performance standards.
Participation in annual capital equipment and operations budgets is required.
Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Respiratory Care Manager and / or Critical Care Director.
The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills to work well with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
Familiarity with hospital ethics, protocols, departmental procedures, and policies is essential.
Critical Care experience is preferred.
Education :
A high school diploma or equivalency is mandatory.
Successful completion of a minimum of two years of college education, including an Associate degree or Bachelor degree, is preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
The ability to work well with patients, physicians, and co-workers is crucial.
Critical thinking and the ability to manage high-stress situations are essential for this role.
