Alt Shift : Day | 4x12-Hour | 11 : 00–23 : 00

Contract Length : 13 Weeks

Hours per Week : 36 or 48 (12-hour shifts)

Position : Registered Nurse – High Acuity Med / Surg (MS / Tele / PCU)

Unit Overview :

High Acuity Med / Surg unit caring for a mixed MS / Tele / PCU patient population. The unit is fast-paced with varying ratios based on acuity. Staff must demonstrate flexibility and strong critical thinking skills to provide comprehensive, high-quality care.

Shift & Schedule Details :

Primary Shifts : 07 : 00–19 : 30 or 11 : 00–23 : 00

Weekend Block Option : Friday–Sunday (add Thursday or Monday for 48-hour schedules)

Every Other Weekend / Every Other Holiday required

No Call Requirement

Float : Required—may include assisting as CNA or team RN as needed

First-time travelers accepted

Job Expectations :

Perform Bedside Shift Reporting (BSSR) utilizing AIDET and hourly rounding

Deliver safe, patient-centered care with effective communication and teamwork

Maintain excellent customer service and phone etiquette

Required Experience & Skills :

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience

BLS certification (required)

Experience with at least one of the following :

Bowel resections, bariatric surgery, trach care, or epidural infusion

Comfortable managing high-acuity MS / Tele / PCU patients

Common Case Types :

Abdominal Surgeries : Cholecystectomy, bowel resection, Whipple, etc.

ENT Surgeries : Thyroidectomy, laryngectomy, tracheostomy, etc.

Bariatric Procedures : Gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy

Complex Wounds : Debridement, skin grafting, hyperbaric oxygen therapy
