The expected hiring range for this position is : $97,400.00-$138,333.00. Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

About The Role

Fermilab's Finance Organization seeks a Deputy to the Senior Financial Manager. The Deputy will assist the Senior Financial Manager in the execution, coordination, management and oversight of all budget and financial activities. The Deputy to the Senior Financial Manager will manage employees engaged in budget and financial activities of the assigned organizations.

What Your Day-To-Day Will Look Like

• Lead team of junior financial staff.
• Proposals and Budget Development working with Principal Investigators (PIs) on proposal budgets to ensure correct application of rates, and alignment with charging practices and the funding announcement or field work proposal.
• Projections and Analysis reviewing uncosted balances and providing variance analysis.
• Timekeeping (Kronos)
• Purchasing & Purchase Order (PO) Maintenance advising on procurement procedures and required documentation.
• Project Accounting performing cost impact and budget availability.
• Take lead in reorganization of Particle Physics Directorate org structure and tasks
• Travel / Relocation approval of all organizational travel budgeting in Concur
• Joint Appointments including tracking JA invoices with and without Pos.
• Employee Maintenance (Workday)
• Procard support to administrative staff about front-end issues, reconciliation issues
• Morale funds - completing, signing off, and submitting morale fund reimbursement forms.
• Miscellaneous maintaining of signature authority list, which denotes the monetary value individuals are allowed to approve.
• May serve on committees to review charging practices, or assess management systems
• Enterprise Applications Account Request provide guidance on correct access and approve forms.
