UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus.
Purpose of the Position :
The Instructor empowers students by delivering engaging and effective instruction and instructional support. The role will collaborate with program leaders and other departments to enhance student success, foster retention, support certification, celebrate graduation milestones, and facilitate successful career placements. The position will promote the overall well-being and integrity of our educational programs and our students.
What You'll Do :
Unless specified otherwise, both adjunct and full-time Instructors will be expected to do the following :
Teach the standardized distance education curriculum according to an assigned schedule.
Facilitate discussion forums and interactive course posts to promote student interaction and engagement. Host weekly office hours. Complete weekly outreach to students.
Create learning support tools tailored to students' demonstrated needs. Provide academic feedback in a constructive, positive, and timely manner. Perform weekly outreach to support student success.
Adhere to policies, maintain an up-to-date faculty file, and communicate effectively with program leadership and students per established expectations and timelines.
