Job descriptionCoordinate Customs Clearance : Manage and oversee the customs clearance processes for both import and export shipments, ensuring timely and efficient handling of goods. Documentation Management : Prepare, review, and organize all necessary customs documentation, including invoices, shipping manifests, and other required paperwork to facilitate smooth customs processing. Compliance Assurance : Ensure compliance with all relevant customs laws and regulations, staying updated on changes in legislation that may affect import and export activities. Communication : Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and customs authorities to resolve any issues or delays that may arise during the customs clearance process. Tracking and Reporting : Monitor incoming international shipments, track their status, and provide updates to relevant parties, ensuring transparency and timely information flow. Problem Resolution : Identify and address any shipment or import issues, working proactively to resolve them and minimize disruptions to the supply chain. Maintain Knowledge : Keep abreast of current customs regulations, procedures, and best practices to ensure effective coordination and compliance in all customs-related activities. Education : A high school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's Degree in Business, logistics, or a related field is preferred. A thorough understanding of international trade laws and practices. 2-4 years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are important for liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs officials. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) preferred. ? It would be beneficial (but not essential) if you also have : Experience in a battery, automotive, or electronics manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
