Job Summary :
The Security Specialist role requires expertise in M365 security, governance, compliance, and privacy requirements. This position is responsible for ensuring configurations align with cybersecurity directives and federal standards. The specialist will manage and tune security policies, support security components, and implement access and identity governance standards.
Location : District of Columbia, United States
Responsibilities :
- Manage and tune data loss prevention, retention, sensitivity labeling, and insider risk policies.
- Support and configure security components across workloads.
- Manage audit logging, data connectors, and compliance event tracking.
- Review and process Security Change Requests.
- Support privacy, records management, and legal hold requirements.
- Implement conditional access and identity governance standards.
- Ensure components adhere to enterprise security baselines.
- Support security configurations including tenant-to-tenant, Splunk, and BYOK.
Required Skills & Certifications :
Purview, Defender, and M365 Compliance Center expertise.Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection requirements.Experience with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and federal privacy controls.PowerShell scripting for security automation.7+ years in security, with 3+ years in M365 security / compliance.Preferred Skills & Certifications :
