Staff / Senior Airfame Design Engineer

This is an opportunity for a Staff / Senior Level Airframe Design Engineer with a strong background in lightweight structures to join an aerospace vendor dedicated to building an eVTOL aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility.

Tasks and Responsibilities

This role requires the candidate to be actively involved in the detailed design of aerostructures .

• Lead the development of major structural airframe assemblies from preliminary design through certification and manufacturing ramp up.
• Apply an in-depth understanding of load paths, design best practices, and hand calculations to design robust structural configurations.
• Apply design for manufacturing concepts to create designs that are cost-effective and easy to fabricate at rate.
• Work closely with and mentor other engineers on the design, stress, and M&P teams.
• Develop company standards for composite and metallic part CAD models and drawings .
• Provide technical guidance on design concepts, balancing risk vs. cost vs. performance .
• Support manufacturing to validate and verify that designs meet requirements and specifications.
• Perform a mix of team collaboration and individual work, including first principles sizing and shaping, with a significant CAD element .
