Lead Caregiver – Full-Time (In-Home Care)

Pay Rate : $20-22 per hour

Location : Multiple client homes across service areas (based on coverage needs)

Job Summary

Sunland Home Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Caregiver to join our team full-time. This position plays a key role in supporting both clients and fellow caregivers by providing high-quality care, mentoring new staff, and ensuring coverage across various locations. The Lead Caregiver will work overnight shifts, participate in alternating weekend rotations, and assist with training and onboarding of new caregivers.

This role requires professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to helping individuals maintain their independence and dignity in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Caregiver Training & Support : Assist in onboarding and mentoring new caregivers, modeling best practices and providing ongoing guidance.
• Personal Care : Support clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.
• Meal Preparation : Prepare meals based on dietary needs and preferences.
• Medication Reminders : Prompt clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Mobility Assistance : Support safe movement within the home, including transfers.
• Light Housekeeping : Perform tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and general tidying.
• Companionship : Engage clients in conversation and activities to promote emotional well-being.
• Transportation : Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and outings.
• Communication : Maintain clear communication with clients, families, and supervisors; report changes in condition or concerns promptly.
• Scheduling Flexibility : Work daytime and overnight shifts, alternate weekends, and travel between client locations based on staffing needs.

Work Environment

Caregivers work in clients’ homes, which vary in layout and physical demands. The role may require travel between locations and working in different home environments. Due to the nature of direct 1 : 1 caregiving and the individualized needs of clients, certain essential functions of this role may not be subject to accommodation.
