Overview

Lake Forest Animal Clinic has an opportunity for a full time, experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Location : 24301 Muirlands Blvd ste p, Lake Forest, CA 92630

Clinic hours : Monday-Friday 7am-6pm, Saturday 8am-4pm

Compensation : $28-32 / hr with a $2000 sign on bonus paid at 90 days

Shift Details : Full time, 36-40 hours per week

Weekend availability is a must

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? At Lake Forest Animal Clinic, we utilize your veterinary technician skills to the fullest! The ideal candidate will be confident and proficient in all veterinary technician skills, but especially in dentistry (cleaning, extractions, etc).

The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) supports the operation of an animal hospital by providing medical care to patients in accordance with veterinary practice regulations. The RVT guides and trains medical support staff, ensures smooth workflow during shifts, and communicates effectively with team members and clients.

Note : The Registered Veterinary Technician title is used in the following states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements : California, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and / or state. Responsibilities will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and / or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care under the supervision of a veterinarian (DVM).
• Maintain clear and accurate medical, client, and case records using appropriate terminology and grammar.
• Review medical records, treatment estimates, and discharge instructions with clients, and respond to basic animal care inquiries, escalating medical questions to veterinarians as needed.
• Guide and support medical support staff to ensure efficient shift operations and workflow.
• Mentor team members to encourage career growth and personal development.
• Provide input for 360-degree performance evaluations of employees.
• Assist with client services including appointment scheduling, payments, check-in, and courteous phone communication.
• Provide feedback and suggest improvements to training programs; participate in training sessions, job shadows, and working interviews.
• Perform assigned cleaning, clinic upkeep, and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Delegate cleaning or other duties during slow periods when a supervisor is unavailable.
• Identify and address areas needing additional attention within the clinic environment.
• Answer client inquiries confidently about routine procedures and animal care.

Communicate effectively with team members and clients to support patient care and hospital operations.
