Overview :

This position is a hybrid role requiring a mix of remote and on-site work at the five CommonSpirit Hospitals in the Greater Salt Lake City area : Holy Cross Davis, Holy Cross Salt Lake City, Holy Cross Jordan Valley, Holy Cross West Valley, and Holy Cross Mountain Point. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City Area.

The Physician Advisor reports directly to the Medical Director Physician Advisor / UR and is responsiblefor maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Medical Director CDI, Enterprise Director Case Management, UM Hub Director, and Care Coordination Leaders at the assigned sites. This position provides support to the facility Utilization Management Committees, medical staff, UM Hub, and care coordinationteams to ensure correct patient status, manage / prevent denials, manage length of stay, meet licensure, compliance, quality and utilization management requirements to ensure optimal patient outcomes and financial performance for the Greater Salt Lake market.

Qualifications :

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following :

• 5 years experience as a physician.
• Administrative experience on Medical Staff and Hospital Committees or administrative roles, preferred.
• Experience as a Physician Advisor in the acute care setting and / or the payer environment, preferred.
• Education and experience in the areas of medical management, outcomes management, and quality improvement / patient safety, preferred.
• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an approved College of Medicine / Osteopathy
• Board Certified / Eligible physician licensed for the practice of medicine in the State of Utah
• Certification by American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians (ABQAURP), preferred.

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - exert / lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and / or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and / or up to 10lbs. constantly.
