Overview
Nexstar Media Group is seeking a news Graphic Designer to join a bold team of in-house designers in downtown Chicago, Illinois. This is a unique opportunity to have your work seen on a national level for a broadcast network. The ideal candidate has strong typography and composition skills for broadcast design, video, social media and print, and is proficient in producing daily news graphics in Photoshop, logo design in Illustrator, and intermediate motion graphics in After Effects. Must provide a link to an online portfolio for consideration.
Responsibilities
- Design high-quality graphics for broadcast news, social media and print with strong typography and composition.
- Translate top news content quickly into compelling graphic designs.
- Produce daily news graphics using Photoshop (primary) and Illustrator (secondary).
- Create logo and branding elements; contribute to layout and overall visual storytelling.
- Develop intermediate to advanced motion graphics in After Effects.
- Work effectively under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with teammates and follow brand standards and design workflow protocols.
- Engage in related design duties as needed (photo editing, print design, presentation design, web / social media design, video editing, etc.).
- Possess flexibility to work weekends or unconventional hours; hybrid remote options may be available after training.
Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in broadcast news, local or network level, or comparable design experience in broadcast entertainment, post-production, or related fields.Strong graphic design and typography skills; high proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (primary) and Illustrator (secondary).Excellent layout, composition and photo manipulation skills.High-level logo and branding design capabilities.Intermediate to advanced motion design skills with After Effects a plus.Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong problem-solving skills under deadlines.Ability to follow brand standards and design workflow protocols.Skills in additional tools (Adobe Express, InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Cinema 4D, Premiere) are a plus.Undergraduate degree in graphic arts or equivalent experience.Must provide a link to an online portfolio for consideration.Employment Details
