About The Position

Job Title : CVOR Registered Nurse

Profession : Registered Nurse

Specialty : Cardiovascular Operating Room

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : Day 4x10-Hour

Hours per Shift : 06 : 15 - 16 : 45

Experience : Minimum 3 years' experience required (Trauma or Major Operating Room experience preferred)

License : Active state license required

Certifications : BLS required, ACLS preferred

Must-Have :

• Call required : 1-2 nights per week and every 4th weekend
• Required work setting experience : CVOR, General OR
• Required cardiovascular skills / experience include :
• Aortic Aneurysm repair
• Coronary Artery Bypass Graft
• ECMO
• Left Ventricular Assist Device
• Required vascular skills / experience include :
• Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair
• Carotid Endarterectomy
• Femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Required thoracic skills / experience include :
• Thoracotomy
• VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery)
• Required endoscopic procedure skills / experience :
• Bronchoscopy
• EGD
• Whipple experience required
• Teaching Hospital experience & Level II Trauma experience required

Description :

The position requires an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse.

The average daily census is 10, with 4 rooms available.

Candidates should be open to accommodating block schedules.

Flexibility for scheduling requests must be discussed with the manager.

Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.

The position involves participation in on-call rotations.

Weekend on-call commitment is necessary, including every fourth weekend.

Required professional knowledge includes Laser Safety and Specimen Handling.

The role also necessitates compliance with the Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedure.

Experience in a Level I trauma center is preferred.

This role supports a variety of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.

Candidates should expect to work with adults and geriatric patient populations.
