Transpak is a leading global provider of packaging, crating and logistics and design for nearly 70 years. With a global footprint, 37 locations, and 2,700 team members, Transpak is looking to add to the team at the San Jose facility.
We are seeking a Safety / Facilities Coordinator to assist Facilities Manager with the coordination of resources, equipment, tasks, and information.
Keep site projects organized and progressing to complete projects on-time and within budget. Drive communication with internal / external team members to ensure timely follow up and execution.
Maintain a safety mindset. A willingness to be hands-on and work in a warehouse environment is a must.
Essential Functions :
Facilities
- Coordinate and maintain daily project schedule for facilities team
- Assist with scheduling machine PM maintenance and emergency repairs
- Obtain quotes for purchases and services needed, create POR’s, and filter through management for approval
- Maintain organized online filing systems for maintenance records, vehicle inspections, forklift certifications, etc.
- Maintain updated contractor listing
- Assist with Stormwater collection and reporting
- Other related tasks as necessary
Safety
- Provide support related to safety training and new hire safety orientation
- Lead local site safety committee
- Conduct daily safety walks. Monitor and report issues / concerns to management
- Responsible for keeping supervisors on task to meet safety requirements (observations, toolbox talks, leadership audits)
- Monitor building security and report issues to local police / fire / management
- Implement new corporate safety policies and programs at site level
- Communicate and enforce all OSHA safety standards and Transpak safety policies
- Review accidents and near misses with Supervisors to identify causes and recommend corrective actions to reduce the risk
of recurrence
- Conduct inventory of PPE and First Aid Kits, order supplies as needed
- Administer annual safety drill
Education / Knowledge / Skills :
- Prefer 2+ years’ experience in a facilities or safety support role
- Associate degree or higher desired
- Proven ability to interface in a collaborative, professional and solutions-oriented manner
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
Job Description
- Ability to manage time and priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate in Microsoft Office Suite : (Excel, Outlook, PPT, Teams)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment
- Bilingual in Spanish required
