As a Lead Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert performing diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls to keep customer vehicles safe and operational. You will :
Perform diagnosis and repairs of most vehicle components without supervisionComplete major component repairs and / or overhaulsDiagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspectionsPerform electrical and / or air conditioning system repairsCommunicate with the parts department to obtain needed partsSave and tag parts of the job if under warranty or requested by the customer; track warranty parts back to the dealershipExamine assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommendedCommunicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timeDocument all work performed and recommended on the repair order, including required information for warranty claimsRoad test vehicles or refer to a test technician as requiredAssist other technicians in major repairsParticipate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and keep abreast of technical bulletinsInspect and test newly delivered vehicles, install optional equipment, and report defectsMaintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manualsWork in a team environment and maintain a professional appearanceAdhere to and promote all existing health and safety policies in the workplaceWhat We’re Looking For
Vocational / technical school graduate preferred; five years related experience requiredExperience in engine and driveline troubleshooting; electrical repair; air conditioning systems; and component overhaulsAbility to meet or exceed productivity and efficiency standardsMust have a good supply of hand tools to complete most repairsStrong communication, organizational, and customer service skillsLicenses & Certifications :
Valid Driver’s License (must meet company insurability standards)CDL Class B or above preferred (must meet company insurability standards)State Vehicle Inspector Certification (Class 7) requiredPhysical Requirements
Regular walking and standingFrequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawlingRegular lifting / moving up to 50 lbs; frequently lift / move over 100 lbsWhy Join Hunter Truck?
