Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Assignment Length : 8 weeks Start Date : December 8, 2025 End Date : January 31, 2026 Location : Hickory, NC (Zip : 28602) – North Carolina nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Birthing Center, Labor & Delivery Unit Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM), weekdays with every other weekend required Hours per Week : 36 Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,570 - $1,680 Travel Nursing Experience : Preferred Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (Mother / Baby nursing experience required) Active Registered Nurse license (North Carolina or compact state; pending status with ETA accepted) BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) NRP certification Proficiency with electronic charting systems COVID-19 vaccination required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Ability to work every other weekend and flex to a 4th shift if needed Travel RN experience preferred Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a busy birthing center Circulate for C-sections and assist with triage of obstetrical patients Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic charting systems Float within the hospital as needed Participate in orientation and comply with all facility policies and procedures Discover the charm of Hickory, NC—nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering beautiful parks, local dining, and a friendly atmosphere.
