Metal Stamping Punch Press Setup Technician

Location : Anaheim, CA

Compensation : $25–$30 per hour DOE

Schedule : 5 : 00 am – 1 : 30 pm

A day in this role

When your shift starts at 5 : 00 am, you power up your press or cold header and begin with a careful setup. You select the correct punches and dies, perform precise calibrations, and run test pieces. With calipers, gauges, and micrometers in hand, you verify that every manufactured part meets exact specifications. You keep the operation safe with proper guards, make on-the-fly adjustments, load wire correctly, and handle minor preventive maintenance—like oil changes—so production never skips a beat. Throughout the day, you read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and keep your work area clean and organized.

What you’ll do

• Set up and operate a punch press or cold header to meet production requirements
• Complete calibrations, adjustments, and troubleshooting for consistent quality
• Change punches and dies; fine-tune settings as needed
• Measure parts using calipers, gauges, and micrometers to confirm specifications
• Load wire properly and safely
• Perform minor preventive maintenance, including oil changes
• Maintain a safe operation with proper guarding and a clean, orderly workspace
