American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position requiring an AZ or compact license and strong telemetry skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care Med / Surg Telemetry unit with a 49-bed capacityTypical patient diagnoses include CHF, respiratory, GI, diabetes, COVID, post-cath, and total joint replacementsPatient ratio is 1 : 5Use of BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatment equipmentRNs are required to interpret and sign tele strips at least once per shift12-hour day shifts (7-7) with every other weekend requiredFirst to float and may float to East Campus or PCU if qualifiedUses Cerner EMRNo call or on-call requiredSelf-scheduling system is used, finalized by managerCare for patients with diverse cardiac, respiratory, and medical surgical needs including post-procedure and orthopedic casesRequired to work major holidays with specific day / evening coverage expectations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year'sOne shift of unit-specific orientation providedRNs will work alongside charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides with a typical aide ratio of 1 : 10-15Scrub color is navy blueSterile technique testing for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing required upon orientationIf the dysrhythmia or sterile technique tests are failed twice, the candidate will be ineligible for CommonSpirit Arizona or Sacramento region positions for 6 months\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license is required and must be in hand at the time of considerationCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications are requiredMinimum two years of recent relevant RN experienceAbility to read basic telemetry strips and experience caring for CVA and TIA patientsExperience with total joint replacement recovery preferredCerner EMR experience recommended due to limited unit orientation (one day)Must pass a dysrhythmia (Relias) exam with at least an 80% score within two attempts prior to contractingMust provide references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required for considerationCandidates must live at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidates may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN for any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year\n Benefits\n
