Job Description :

Responsibilities for this position include utilizing advanced skills to perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment for all data center(s) assigned and maintaining mission-critical uptime of 99.

999% or higher. This position is a high-level resource with advanced technical knowledge that actively engages in cross-market efforts to improve operational effectiveness and efficiencies across the company.

Other responsibilities include vendor management, scheduling and documentation control. Must build and maintain a strong working relationship with the Technical Assistance Associate team (TAC) and provide training across the region or markets.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • 24x7 facility on-call responsibility
  • Monitor and maintain the operations, maintenance and repair of all mission-critical equipment and systems supporting 24x7 data center operators to achieve 99.

999% uptime and 100% compliance with all customer SLAs.

  • Vendor relationship management
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans and other technical documents.
  • Drive change toward operational excellence goals. Identify constraints and propose solutions
  • Lead in disaster recovery "dry run" exercises
  • Assist in commissioning efforts in multiple markets and provide high level input
  • Maintain AHJ requirements
  • Maintain and implement change windows in accordance with company policies.
  • Assist in the provisioning of power for customer orders and other electrical modifications as assigned while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Assist with off-hours and weekend maintenance activities when required.
  • Assist with reports on customer utilization, including space and power.
  • Be able to create, read and prepare Method of Procedures (MOP) & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all maintenance and operational aspects of the data center.
  • Perform rounds of assigned facility(s) to ensure proper equipment operation, aesthetics, and cleanliness.
  • Monitoring / alerting of facility equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

  • 5 Years of data center experience
  • 5+ years of experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting / problem solving
  • Experience working with building automation
  • 5+ years of experience within a critical infrastructure environment.
  • An understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAH units
  • Applicable military experience
  • Applicable trade experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical certifications (Associates degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)
  • 8+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation
  • Meets / exceeds functional / technical depth and complexity

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Walk or Stand for 50% of the time
  • Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
  • Lift 50 lbs.
  • Travel 10% of the time

Hourly Pay Range

Hourly pay ranger for this position is estimated to be ($44.76- $50.34). However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
