Job Overview :
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques. This role requires working closely with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans, collect data, and contribute to the overall progress of the individuals therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities :
Implement ABA Therapy : Provide direct therapy to clients based on individual treatment plans designed by a BCBA, using evidence-based techniques such as reinforcement, prompting, and teaching functional skills.Data Collection & Analysis : Collect data on client behavior, progress, and responses to interventions. Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions.Behavioral Intervention : Assist in managing challenging behaviors through safe and effective behavioral interventions as outlined in treatment plans.Client Progress Monitoring : Track and report client progress regularly to BCBAs and supervisors, providing necessary updates on any changes or challenges encountered during sessions.Collaboration : Work closely with families, caregivers, and other team members to ensure the implementation of consistent behavior interventions across various settings.Training : Participate in ongoing training and development related to ABA principles and interventions, as well as compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may require a college degree in psychology, education, or a related field.Certification : Must have current RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).Experience : Prior experience in a behavior analysis setting or working with children / adults with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred.Skills :Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team.Comfortable working with individuals with behavioral and developmental challenges.Ability to collect and organize data efficiently.Physical Requirements : Must be able to engage in physical activity (e.g., lifting, sitting on the floor, standing) and may be required to implement behavior management techniques when necessary.Work Environment :
