DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Research and analyze freight costs and classifications, delivery methods, and delivery schedules to minimize costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
2. Organize the daily activities of multiple shipping functions and make recommendations to improve the productivity, quality and efficient delivery of products and services.
3. Assist sales in developing detail customer delivery dates and ensure adherence to commitments for stock orders.
4. Act as a liaison with planning, productions, and sales on matters pertaining to schedules, production, and designs to resolve daily issues.
5. Manage the export process and ensure compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations.
6. Oversee the completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international distribution in a timely manner.
7. Negotiate with clients and handle issues with customs agents.
8. Support ERP system as key user and train employees as needed.
9. Calculate and add freight charges to customer invoices.
10. Oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
11. Process packages in various computer software.
12. Perform general office procedures such as maintaining shipping files, typing general office correspondence, faxing invoices, etc.
13. Record information such as values, charges, and destination of insured and c.o.d. packages.
14. Lead your team through work and by example.
15. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
7. Possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, BOL’s, requests for quotes, and procedure manuals. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
8. Possess communications skills using common courtesy and the ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or employees.
9. Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
10. Possess the ability to perform physical work including lifting and / or moving up to 50 lbs.
