American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a day shift contract requiring 2+ years IR / Cath Lab experience, MD RT-R ARRT license, and advanced cardiac life support certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a short-term acute care hospital in the Interventional Radiology departmentDay shift, 5x8 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PMOn-call required every other week Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (3 : 30 PM – 10 : 00 PM) and Saturday (8 : 00 AM – 4 : 00 PM)Every other holiday coverage requiredFloat within units of equivalent or lower level acuity as neededPerforms specialized procedures including tunneled catheter placements, embolizations, drain placements, pain procedures (epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablations), and vascular interventions (angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filters)Utilizes equipment such as Siemens, GE / Philips Azurion C-arm, portable C-arm, contrast delivery systems, and Cerner EMRPACS experience requiredMagnet certified facilityScrubs are providedDaily duties include assisting with a wide range of interventional, vascular, and pain management proceduresMust be able to accurately monitor patients and recognize life-threatening arrhythmiasFacility is Magnet certified and offers a supportive team environmentPre-start modules and orientation may include up to 12 hours of trainingCandidates must be willing to float as needed within scope of competencyEvery other weekend and holiday coverage expectedReturn staff must have a minimum 1-year separation to be considered for rehire as a travelerLocal candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rateNo more than 7 days of requested time off is preferred for the 13-week contract, and no time off is permitted in the first two weeksRequirements
Minimum of 2 years Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab experience requiredCurrent MD RT-R ARRT license, ACLS, and BLS certifications required (license required if applicable)Must have or be eligible for a compact or MD state radiology licenseAbility to perform and assist with angioplasty, embolization, vascular stent placement, thrombectomy, central access, and cath / drain exchangesExperience with accurate monitoring, equipment set up, EKG lead placement, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmiasProficiency with Cerner EMR and PACS system requiredAbility to maintain sterile field and work with complex IR / Cath lab proceduresFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this positionTwo recent supervisor references requiredBenefits
