Who We're Looking For

The Custodian position at Sail is an integral part of our team and plays a key role in upholding a concierge-level service to guests and residents.

This role maintains the wow factor within the building, keeping all interior and exterior common areas immaculately clean and well-maintained.

As a full-time position, regular working hours would be Monday-Friday from 9 : 00am - 5 : 30pm, with occasional opportunities to work evenings or weekends.

You’ll thrive in this role if you find joy in creating a clean and welcoming space for others, have a keen eye for detail, and are knowledgeable in completing basic maintenance requests.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :

• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior common areas, including : lobbies, office areas, elevators, entryways, hallways, amenity spaces, and grounds.
• Replace light bulbs in the lobbies, elevators, entryways, hallways, or stairwells, when necessary
• Thoroughly clean vacant apartments during unit turns
• Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and / or management company
• Complete heavy cleaning jobs upon request
• Keep sidewalks shoveled in the winter, and add salt to remove ice when necessary
• Notify supervisor of any resident or safety issues such as maintenance needs, resident issues or changes
• Demonstrate strong professionalism and excellent customer service at all times as a representative of Sail.
• Contribute to cleanliness and curb appeal of the community
• Respond to basic maintenance requests

Requirements :

• Capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Ability to understand and communicate written and verbal directions
• Regular attendance, reliability and punctuality is necessary to meet the needs of applicants, new and current residents, guests and outside vendors during regularly scheduled hours
• Ability to work nights and weekends, upon request
• Must be able to work overtime as needed
• Must be available on the last and first day of the month for turns
• Outstanding customer services skills
• Well organized with excellent attention to detail
• Aptitude to work independently with excellent time management skills
