This technically skilled and industry-informed role is responsible for driving sales of HVAC solutions and managing project documentation for engineering and construction clients. This position ensures alignment with company standards while fostering strong client relationships. This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering Sales. This role is hybrid and is based in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to assess needs and recommend technical solutions.
  • Manage and grow client accounts and relationships.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Deliver product presentations and maintain technical expertise.
  • Provide engineering support to clients and internal teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and engineers.
  • Analyze construction documents and qualify bid opportunities.
  • Create quotations and review purchase orders for accuracy and profitability.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by VP, Engineering Sales or Company management.
  • Responsibility directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency)
  • Day to Day : 50% Office / 50% Sales Calls. Most sales calls will take place in driving distance from the Saint Louis, MO metro area.
  • Out of State Travel Requirements : 5-10% air travel.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor\'s degree in engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in Engineering, Engineering Sales, or Technical HVAC Sales.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including drug screen, and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional level of mathematical, verbal and written skills
  • The ability to present to both small and large groups.
  • A strong technical understanding of products and applications, with the capacity to explain complex concepts to clients.
  • Proficiency in basic Internet software, CRM software, and order processing systems.

  • Working Conditions

    While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. This role requires in-office presence at the Kansas City location three days per week (Monday - Wednesday) and remote work two days per week (Thursday and Friday).

    Physical Requirements

    Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to :

  • Ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods.
  • Ability to physically move around the office, organize or transport files, packages, or other office-related materials.
  • Ability to read documents, use a computer, and perform data entry tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.
  • Pay Range

    Compensation will be largely commission-based and should produce between $85,000 and $170,000 of compensation, depending on skills, experience, qualification, applicable laws, and of course, your contribution to the overall success of the company.
