Material Handler

The Material Handler ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and / or materials storage area.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
• Locates and accurately pulls parts and supplies for use in assembly by using pull sheets generated from our warehouse management system.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Receives and verifies counts of incoming parts from vendors. Put parts away in designated inventory locations. Records units delivered and location of units.
• Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
• Records units shipped for product shipment.
• Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials onto and off trucks, departments and loading docks. Maintains material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
• Performs cycle counting to ensure inventory is accurate and discrepancies.
• Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations.
• Follows established Lean Manufacturing and 6-S procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
