We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our organization in Buffalo, New York. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective budgeting and forecasting processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operational accounting and strategic financial analysis.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, general ledger management, and revenue recognition.
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and support both internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including variance reports and management reporting packages.
- Maintain the general ledger, including accruals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align financial goals.
- Analyze profit and loss trends, product margins, operational KPIs, and capital expenditures to provide actionable insights.
- Develop financial models and conduct scenario planning to support strategic initiatives.
- Manage capital expenditure tracking and oversee fixed asset accounting processes.
- Collaborate with departments such as sales, engineering, and supply chain to provide real-time financial data for operational efficiency.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
- Proficiency in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls.
- Demonstrated expertise in annual operating budget preparation and forecasting processes.
- Strong knowledge of year-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
- Experience with KPI reporting and data analysis to drive business decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
